Charles "Chuck" F. Kroner

Charles "Chuck" F. Kroner, 82, of Brick, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Born in Queens, NY, Chuck lived in Westwood, NJ for many years until moving to Brick in 1985. Chuck served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree in political science from Seton Hall University graduating in 1956. Chuck was an accountant for Kelso Construction in Manasquan, retiring in 1996. He was a parishioner and usher of St. Dominic's parish for many years. He was a member of the Material Handling Society of NJ for over 40 years and started and ran their annual Scholarship Golf outing for 25 years. Chuck had a lifelong passion for the sport of baseball and his beloved Brooklyn Dodgers and NY Mets. He was involved with various craft shows in the community and was best known for Chuck's Pin People Plus clothespin ornaments at local craft shows.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Martha Bratt. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Janet (Delahanty) Kroner; his son, Jerry Kroner and his wife Janine of Oakland; his daughters, Ellen Kroner of Stewartsville, Rae Kritzmacher and her husband John of Far Hills, and Lisa Lindsay and her husband Scott of Farmington, CT; his brother, James Kroner; his sister, Kathryn Turansky; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Garrett, Renee, Charlie, Susan, Brian and Katie.

The family will receive relatives and friends for the viewing from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Hwy. 88, Brick. The funeral mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21 , 2014 at St. Dominic's Church in Brick. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck's memory to the MHS Scholarship Fund, 3 Highland Ave., Long Valley, NJ 07853.
