Czeslaw Ryszard Sibilski, age 71, of Monroe, formerly of Sayreville, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. Born in Keblowo, Poland, he was a political refugee of communist Poland. He escaped to a camp in Austria and then came to the United States through New Orleans. He continued his journey to New York, where after three years he was finally reunited with his wife and children. He and his family made Sayreville their home for over 25 years. After many years, Chester happily became a US citizen in 1990. Before his retirement, he worked for over 25 years as a building Superintendent in Manhattan. He also proudly owned his own refrigeration business for 15 years when he lived in Poland. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Sayreville.
Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years, the former Malgorzata Kotlarska; his children, Dorothy Pashley and her husband Allen, Yvonne Kawalec and her husband John, and Peter; his grandchildren, Allen, Apolonia and Kathleen Pashley, Julia, Diana and Amelia Kawalec all of Sayreville and his sisters, Stefania Wojciechowska and Bozena Podbylska both of Poland.
Funeral services will be Monday 8:30am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main Street, Sayreville with a 9am funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Sayreville. Burial will take place at St. Stan's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
