Doris Collins Bateman, 89, Died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at home. Doris was born in Augusta, GA, on September 7, 1923, to Viola and James Carroll. She had a brother James Carroll, all have since passed.
Doris was an active member of Raritan Valley Country Club as well as North Branch Reformed Church. When not raising her two daughters, Doris's career included the position of Secretary at Christ Church United Presbyterian, as well as a long time Administrative Assistant at Ortho Diagnostic.
Doris enjoyed, traveling, especially to Pleasant Pond, ME, as well as painting, golf, and playing bridge and dominos with anyone she could talk into playing. Doris had the joy of being married twice, once to Robert Collins with whom she had two daughters, and also to C. Palmer Bateman, Jr. Both are deceased.
Surviving are her daughters, Donna Coleman and Linda Hoglander married to Scott Hoglander grandchildren Lindsey Sellman and husband Dave Sellman, Brian Nelson and wife Courtney Nelson, and Kyle Hoglander; great-grandchildren McKayla and Conner Sellman, and caretaker and dear friend Nana Magradze. Doris's two beloved cats, Mr. Lucky and Daisy, were very special companions to her and she loved them dearly.
There will be a memorial service 10:00AM Tuesday, April, 2, 2013, at the North Branch Reformed Church, 203 Route 28, Bridgewater, with a repast brunch following at Raritan Valley Country Club, Raritan. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Animal Shelter.
