Dorothy Dittig Cartlidge, age 85, of Barnegat, NJ died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at Arcadia Nursing Home of Tuckerton, NJ. Dorothy was born September 7, 1927 in Hackettstown, N.J. She is the daughter of the late William F., Jr. of Nutley and Mildred Louise (Harris) Dittig of Hackettstown. She was also predeceased by her cousin, Nancy Guild, Manahawkin. She was a Tour Guide for the Fruit and Spice Park and Everglades National Park in Florida. Dorothy traveled the world and retired to Barnegat, NJ. Dorothy was also a School Teacher. She graduated Trenton High Class of 1945 and from Elmira College in 1949.
She is survived by a son, Frederick Wm. Cartlidge and wife Aileen, of Barnegat, NJ; three daughters, Dorothy C. Campbell and husband Edwin Hopkins, of Baltimore, MD, Mary C. Loney and husband Jeffrey, of Bergen, NY and Carol C. McGowan and husband James, of Bozeman, MT.; 3 grandchildren, LT. Christine Benedict, USN, Timothy Loney, Esq. and Peter Loney, CPA.
A graveside service and burial was held on Friday, January 4th, 2013 at 12:00 PM NOON at Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Mountain Avenue, Hackettstown, N.J. Visitation will be private for family only.
