AGE: 64 • Belle Mead
Daughter of Andrew Grega and Frances Devaney, Elizabeth (Betty) Donahue of Belle Mead, NJ, formerly of Yonkers and Briarcliff Manor, NY, passed away in her home surrounded by family Tuesday morning, July 24, 2012. She was 64 years old. Betty was born in Yonkers, N.Y., on October 13, 1947. She lived in Westchester County, NY for 40 years before moving to Belle Mead 25 years ago. Betty was most recently a Student Counselor at Trenton Catholic Academy and a long time member of the Mercer County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association, Lawrence Alcohol and Drug Alliance, and Hamilton Alliance. In 1994 she was the recipient of the Doris W. Dealman Youth Advocate Award for the Somerset County Youth Service Commission. Betty was formerly the President of the Montgomery Township PTA and founder of Montgomery Safe Homes project. She fulfilled her strong sense of community as a former CCD teacher at St. Charles Borromeo Church and a volunteer as both an EMT with the Montgomery Township EMS and as an instructor with the Red Cross. Betty most enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter Kristen, her sons John, Stephen and Michael, her husband of 40 years John, her brother Thomas and her fifteen adored grandchildren Jordan, Christopher, Zachary, Ozzie, Avery, Nathaniel, William, Ryan, Luke, Quinlan, Katherine, Stephen, John, Timothy and Anne.
Funeral services will begin on Monday July 30th at 9:15am in the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 US Hwy 206, Hillsborough followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Church, Skillman.
