AGE: 94 • Manalapan

Emanuel Dublin, 94, of Manalapan, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. He was born in Newark, and lived in Brooklyn, NY and Delray Beach, FL before moving to Manalapan four years ago. Prior to retiring in the mid-1980s, Mr. Dublin owned and operated several dry cleaning stores in New York City for 35 years. He is a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. He served as president of the Delray Beach Homeowners Association and was active in We Care to help those with medical needs. He was an avid musician and played the mandolin in the Florida Mandolin orchestra and Workmen's Circle (where he was a lifetime member) orchestra. He was also very interested in politics and world affairs and engaged in many spirited discussions with members of his family. And he was extremely handy and passed on his knowledge of fixing things throughout the years.

Mr. Dublin is survived by his wife of 70 years, Gertrude; his three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Edward Sable of Marlboro, Ileen and Alan Kessler of Kensington, MD, and Susan and Bruce Oran of Morganville. He was the grandfather of Lori and Steve Herschman of Marlboro, Kenneth and Christina Sable of Monroe Township, Dana and Steven Weiss of Deerfield, IL, Abby and David Weiner of Washington, DC, Matt Oran of Somerset, and Stephanie Oran of New York City; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Ave., Manalapan.
