Mrs. Ethel Graversen Cannon, 82, wife of the late William Henry Cannon and a resident of Onley, VA, formerly of Spotswood, NJ, passed away at the residence of her daughter, Faye, in Pocomoke, MD, on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Born January 10, 1931 in Perth Amboy, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Graves Graversen and Anna Johannson Graversen. Mrs. Cannon was a former District Director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association; and a Lutheran.
Survivors include two daughters, Christine Guemple of Onley, and Faye H. Fair and husband Ray of Pocomoke; four grandchildren, Emily and Jack Guemple, and Leia and Caitlin Dudek; lifelong friend, Fran Decibus of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews; and two step-daughters. Mrs. Cannon had two half-sisters, and in addition to her husband and parents, was predeceased by two brothers, George and Lief Graversen; and a step-daughter.
Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home, Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Onancock Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
