Frances Elizabeth Parra (nee DeMauro), 90, of Barnegat, currently residing in Bass River Twp., passed away peacefully on Saturday Sept. 14, 2013. Born in Bergenfield on Jan. 27, 1923, where she lived until 1995 and she attended the Bergenfield School System. During World War II, she worked at Western Electric in Kearny for 4 years and received a commendation for perfect attendance which she was very proud of. Through the years, she also worked at Arnels in Hackensack and G & M Chemical in Tenafly, where she was a supervisor and later retired from in 1984. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Bergenfield Chapter of Unico.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 beautiful years, James Charles "Diego" Parra; daughter, Lou Ann Parra; her parents, Maria and Dominick DeMauro; brothers, Paul and Anthony; and sisters, Julia DeMauro, Mary Adams, Philomena "Tootie" Quitadamo, and Carmela DeMauro. She is survived by her daughters, Frances Beningaso (Angelo "Benny") and Diane Wolthoff (Donald); grandchildren, James Montague (Christina), Deidre Beningaso Butcher (Keith), Matthew Beningaso, Jessica Wolthoff, Elizabeth Wolthoff, Daniel and Kyle Beltis, Angelo (Dawn) Benincasa and Alicyn Senyszyn; great-grandchildren, Gianna Marie and Calista Marie Butcher, Ashton Matthew, Preston James, Isabella Maria Montague, Bianca Marie, Nicholas Angelo, Anthony Stephon Benincasa and Joshua Anton Senyszyn; sisters-in-law, Lourdes M. (Warren) Diaz and Mary Catherine "Kitty" Cornella; and close friend of many years, John McHugh. She was loved by all and loved everyone and will be greatly missed.
Viewing hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday evening, Sept. 20 and from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday morning, Sept. 21 at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Theresa's Church, Little Egg Harbor, followed by burial at Miller Cemetery, New Gretna.
