Frieda Catalano

AGE: 98 • Wall

Frieda Catalano, 98, of Wall, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014.

Mrs. Catalano was born in Brooklyn. She grew up in New Brunswick, and later lived in Newark, Oceanport, and Toms River, before coming to Wall ten years ago. She worked for many years as an Electronics Assembly Supervisor at EAI, Eatontown, before retiring. She was an avid Yankee fan, but above all else, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was much-loved by everyone who knew her, especially her family, who will greatly miss her.

Mrs. Catalano was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony, in 1968. She was also predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Ursula (Pelicane) Benigno, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, JoAnn and Robert Curcio, of Point Pleasant, and Nellie and James Tracy, of Little Egg Harbor. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Gina and Robert Diubaldi, Robert and Deanna Curcio, Nicholas and Susan Curcio, James and Catherine Tracy, Tony and Karen Tracy, Holly and Michael Lucarelli, and Nicki and Scott Barrington, as well as by 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, from 3-6 P.M. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Denis Church, Manasquan, on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 9:30 A.M., followed by interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch.
