AGE: 77 • Wall Township

Georgia (nee Zekos) Cernansky, 77 of Wall Township passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Sunnyside Manor, Wall Twp.

Georgia was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. and resided there before living in Spring Lake for several years. She has resided in Wall Township for the past 47 years.

Georgia was very active in the Wall Township community in which she lived. She was a member of the Pride of Wall Seniors, and was a member of the Allaire Women's Club, having served as the past President of the Club.

She had been employed as a Lab Technician at Fitkin Hospital, Neptune. She went on to work at the Foodtown in Wall and then worked at Heritage Bakery, Matawan.

Georgia was predeceased by her husband Milton "Jerry" Cernansky in 2000, her parents James and Despina (Kontarides) Zekos, and her sister Jeanne Wilson.

She is survived by her devoted children and their spouses Dianna J. and Stephen Furnari of Branchburg, Jim and Laura Cernansky of Barnegat, her beloved grandchildren Marissa, Kristen, Alex, Jason, and Darren, and her sister in law and her husband Merril and Tom Kirkbride of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 9:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:00am at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, NJ, 07719. Burial in AtlanticView Cemetery, Manasquan.
