AGE: 102 • Whiting

Harold A. Ott, 102, of Whiting, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Care One @ Wellington, in Hackensack.

He worked for the Gulf Oil Corp., in New York City in accounting and foreign sales administration for many years, retiring in 1975. He was a Veteran of the US Army having served during WW II from 1940-45 as a Warrant Officer in the Adj. Gen.'s Office of the 4th Infantry and was a member of the 9th Infantry Div. Assn. He worked for the Senior Bulletin Publication in Toms River for 13 years and was a driver for Crestwood Dial-A-Ride. He was an active member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Whiting serving on the church council and as a president and vice-president and was a chairman of the budget committee and building committee from 1988-1990. Born in Union City, he resided in North Bergen and Fair Lawn before moving to Whiting in 1975.

Harold is predeceased by his parents, Anthony & Amelia Ott, and his loving wife Katherine nee Kaefer. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Stahl of Lakewood. He was a devoted and loving uncle to many nieces & nephews. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed by many. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 9-10am with Services beginning at 10am from the Christ Lutheran Church, 40 Schoolhouse Rd. Whiting. Committal will follow with Military Honors in the Chapel at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd Wrightstown.

Arrangements are by the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Christ Lutheran Church in Harold's memory.
