James Joseph Gettinger

AGE: 79 • Lehigh Acres, FL

James Joseph Gettinger, 79, of Lehigh Acres, FL died on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 in East Orange, NJ. He was born on March 28, 1933 in Latrobe, PA to the late Edward Gettinger and the late Jennie (Bish) Gettinger. He drove for North American Van Lines from 1958-1961, retired machine shop worker, Taylor Forge and Pipe Works from 1964-1984, retired school bus driver for Lee County School. He was a corporal who served in Korea and Japan from 1953-1958 during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Good Sam Camping Club. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and volunteered with the Rescue Squad from 1974-1984.

He is survived by his daughter, Franny Mascola and husband Greg of Milford, PA; daughter, Connie Colitti of Middlesex, NJ; grandchildren, Nick Mascola, Annabel Colitti, Jesse Colitti, and Colin Colitti; brother, Earl Gettinger; two sisters, Lillian Wolff and Esther Lehlbach. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Edith Gettinger in 1987 and two brothers, Paul Bish and Matt Gettinger.

Family and friends will be received from 10:30am Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 until time of services at 11:00am in the Mt. Zion United Presbyterian Church, 1433 SE Rt. 28/66, Templeton, PA. Officiated by Rev. David Murphy. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. Zion Presbyterian Cemetery.
