Lorraine Larsen

AGE: 65 • Union Beach

Lorraine "Laurie" Larsen, 65, of Union Beach, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 14, 2012, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. She was born Lorraine May on Nov. 28, 1946 in Long Branch and was raised in Keansburg. She was currently settled in Union Beach with her loving husband, Doug, for the past 17 years. Laurie enjoyed bowling, hiking and taking trips. She was the heart and soul of her family and she cherished her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Laurie was a lay leader for the United Methodist Church of Atlantic Highlands and Navesink. She donated her time and services to Care One Center for the elderly, where she would offer services once a month. She was also the secretary/treasurer of the Grace Scaduto Memorial Bowling League and was employed by Food Circus Supermarkets for about 12 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Edna May; and her brother, John "Jack" May. Laurie is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 47 years, Douglas "Doug" Larsen Sr.; her loving children, Carla Ann Larsen of Neptune, Douglas Larsen Jr. and his wife Laura of Union Beach, James Larsen and his wife Jennifer of DE, and Victoria Jean Byers of DE; her sister, Judith Sanns and her husband Barry of PA; her brother, Vernon May and his wife June of West Keansburg; her cherished grandchildren, David, Nicole & Issaih "Scott" Larsen, Bryan & Stephan Byers, Stevie & Jarrett Lane, Jamie Swift and Jacob Larsen, along with her adored great-granddaughter, Mikayla Larsen. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 17, with a prayer service at 3 p.m. at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet.
