Lynn F. Carroll Obituary
Lynn F. Carroll

AGE: 58 • Wall Township

Lynn Fitzpatrick Carroll, 58 of Wall Township passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY.

Lynn was born in East Orange, NJ and was raised in Maplewood. She had received her BSN from the College of New Jersey. She had lived in Toms River for 10 years before moving to Wall Township in 1996.

She was employed as a Registered Nurse and chose the specialty of pediatrics. She dedicated her professional life to the care of children. She was fortunate to have started her nursing career at one of the most prestigious children's hospitals in the United State, Henrietta Egleston Hospital for Children at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. She continued her work with children in the pediatric department at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington NJ, before moving to the Children's Specialized Hospital, Toms River. Most recently Lynn had served as a school nurse at KIVA High School for special needs children in Monmouth County Vocational High School District, Tinton Falls, and the Conover School, Colts Neck.

She was a Communicant of St. Catharine's Parish, Spring Lake.

Her proudest accomplishment was the creation of her family…her children, Melissa and Jason, for which she made a lifelong commitment. Her strength and courage, integrity, love for life and sense of humor made her family stronger. She was truly a guiding force for everyone that she touched. With her enthusiasm for life, she taught us all about what's important…laugh, cry, dream and don't ever give up.

Lynn was predeceased by her parents Howard and Kathleen Pollock Fitzpatrick and her sister Maureen Van Natten.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years John F. Carroll, her son Jason Carroll of Wall Township, her daughter Melissa and husband Daniel Oakins of Brooklyn, NY, and her 2 brothers Brian Fitzpatrick of San Diego, Ca. and John Fitzpatrick of Santa Rosa, Ca., and her sister Kathleen Singer of Watsonville, CA.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 6:00pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 8:00pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, NJ 07719. Private burial will be in St. Catharine's Cemetery, Sea Girt.
