Mary Ladanyi (Dikun), 95, of Carteret, died on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. She was born in Passaic and lived in Passaic until moving to Carteret in 1939. She was a parishioner of St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church in Carteret. Mary was formerly employed by the Carteret Novelty Co. for 24 years as a Sewing Machine Operator. Mary was Treasurer for 40 years of St. Elias Mother's Club, a member of St. Elias Rosary Society and a member of the Carteret Community Senior Afternoon Group. She is predeceased by her husband, John Ladanyi; her daughter, Eleanor Pakenham; her 4 brothers, George, Michael, John and Peter Dikun; and her two sisters, Elizabeth Ratzin and Helen Kapp. Mary is survived by her daughter, Patricia Baker; her two grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren; her sister, Julia Strusiak and her brother, Charles Dikun; and also 16 nieces and nephews and 25 great-nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 9:30 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue in Carteret. Divine Liturgy will be at 10 AM at St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church in Carteret, followed by Interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. The Viewing hours will be on Monday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Parastas Service will be on Monday at 7 PM.
