Mary W. Ferrell Obituary
Mary W. Ferrell

AGE: 88 • Wall & Formerly Toms River

Mary W. Ferrell, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Sunnyside Manor in Wall. Mary was a wife, mother & grandmother who was loved by her family and by all who knew her. Born in West Virginia, Mary lived in Philadelphia and Tinton Falls, NJ before moving to Shelby, NC where she lived for more than 30 years before moving to Toms River last year so she could be close to her family.

Mary was involved in many volunteer groups within her community, focusing on heart disease and cancer. She was a devout member of Eastside Baptist Church in Shelby where she spent her time helping the ill and homebound. She had a soft-spoken way about her that endeared her to those she met, and her southern charm and accent could draw-in a total stranger.

Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward Leslie Ferrell in 2011, with whom she spent 55 wonderful years. She is survived by her devoted son Michael L. Ferrell and his wife Ann of Wall Township, and her beloved grandchildren, Sarah and Michael Ferrell, both of Wall Township.

Mary knew the importance of family, and she was blessed that her grandchildren continue her tradition recipes of homemade fudge and the family's Christmas Applesauce Cake. Although she is no longer with us, she will live on in our hearts and minds.

Viewing at O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall, on Saturday from 2-5pm, with a funeral service at 5pm. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Mausoleum, Beckley, WV, alongside her husband on Monday at 11am.
