Patrick I. Canavan

Patrick I. Canavan, 48, of Belford, NJ, died on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at his home. He was born in Weehawken and lived in Oceanside, CA, Long Branch and Middletown before living in Belford since 2003. Patrick worked as a driver for Middletown Taxi Company, and was a former bartender at Jacks in Long Branch and at Goodside in Sea Bright. Patrick was a graduate of Middletown High School South in 1982 where he was the Varsity Quarterback for the first football state final in 1981.
A brother, friend, philosopher, uncle, football star, and music aficionado, Patrick was loved and liked by everyone he met. He was a mentor that loved to pass his knowledge on to others. He loved children and would always entertain the kids at family gatherings. We miss you Pat.
Surviving are his parents, Carmen and Donald Canavan; his siblings, Lynn and her husband Ralph Cramer, Tim and his wife Jennifer Canavan, Chris Canavan, Darren and his wife Barbara Canavan, and Kristie and her husband Joseph Capazzoli; as well as his 18 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 4 to 8 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Cremation services will be private.
