Patti Varca Obituary
Patti Varca

AGE: 68 • Oceanport

Patti left this earth to become part of the universe in another realm on a beautiful moonlit night after a 14 month journey through intensive cancer treatment.

Born in April 1948, Patti's childhood years were spent in Fairview and Cliffside Park, NJ. It was in North Jersey almost 50 yrs ago that she met her soul mate and husband Bob. They married and settled in Oceanport after having discovered the area when Bob attended then Monmouth College in the late 60s. Patti served as the Boro Clerk in Oceanport for 30 years. Almost 20 years ago, Patti fought and won a battle with cancer which she addressed with a commitment to life. The disease did not define her but rather she conquered it.

Patti and Bob travelled the world and enjoyed spectacularly gorgeous natural environments such as St. John USVI, Iceland and New Zealand. But Patti was basically a home body and loved Oceanport and their home the best. In retirement she enjoyed creating spectacular gardens that lived in harmony with a koi pond and the feral cats which call their home their home. For the past 8 yrs she was "manager and team principal" supporting Bob as they campaigned a racecar on tracks from Florida to New Hampshire. She looked forward to twice yearly trips to a destination spa with her dear friend Barbara Silkworth. She was a voracious reader, inseparable from her Kindle, and she could cook up a storm.

Predeceasd by her parents Gloria Polifroni Colantoni and Nicholas Polifroni and step father Hugo, Patti is survived by her husband of 46yrs (in a row) Bob, unofficially adopted daughter Mayuree and Grandson Stephen, who provided a joyful experience she would not otherwise have had, and loving first cousins Carol, Paula, Kevin and Dennis.

Bob, family and friends will celebrate Patti's life at a memorial gathering on Saturday November 19, 10am -12 noon at Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad St., Eatontown. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to in Patti's name. Online condolences may be made at www.braunfuneralhome.com.
