Rita Huisman Obituary
RITA HUISMAN
AGE: 90 BELMAR
Rita Huisman, died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at her home in Belmar. She was 90 years old. Mrs. Huisman was the owner of the Barclay in Belmar for more than 50 years. She founded the business with her husband the late C. Andrew Huisman and owned it until 2007. She will be remembered for her complete love of her family, her devout faith, her work ethic, generosity, and love of St. Rose in Belmar. Born in Paterson, she lived in Hawthorne before moving to Belmar 50 years ago.
Rita is predeceased by her husband, C. Andrew Huisman; and her son, Andrew Huisman. She is survived by a daughter, Rita Huisman Harsin of Belmar and her husband Harry; her son, David Huisman of Wall and his wife Susan; nine grandchildren, Allison Cocce Gelman, Andrew G. Harsin, David Huisman, John Huisman, Heidi Huisman Khater, Andrew Huisman, Kim Johnson, Kristin Farhart and Heather Huisman; five step grandchildren, Carolyn Harsin Ritter, Harry M. Harsin, Stephen M. Harsin, Jonathan Harsin, and Phillip Harsin; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren. The Huisman family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Rita's caregivers, Janet Schenk and Emma Usher and her hospice nurse, Joanne Korb.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 at the Reilly Funeral Home, 801 D St., Belmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9 at the Church of St. Rose, Belmar. Entombment will be at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Sea Girt. Donations in her name to the Visiting Nurse Association of Central NJ, 176 Riverside Ave., Red Bank, NJ 07701, would be greatly appreciated.

Dave and Rita, Rita was such a wonderful woman.She was family to Ed. I remember when she bought the twins their Christening gowns, brushed Megan hair before our wedding. Please know my family's hearts and prayers are with you. And what a lovely picture of her.
