Ruth "Boots" Baker (McKenna), 86 formerly of Woodbridge passed away Good Friday at her home in East Brunswick. Born in Woodbridge, Boots lived in East Brunswick for the past thirty years.
Retiring in the 1970's she was employed by General Cable in Perth Amboy as a secretary for over thirty years. She also was employed by Schumacher Wallpaper in East Brunswick. She was a member of St. James R.C. Church Woodbridge where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters as well as the Alter Rosary Society.
A proud moment in her life was meeting with President John F. Kennedy and also having her photo taken with him. Boots was an avid bowler. She was a loving, generous, very caring aunt who loved and lived her faith every day. She is predeceased by her loving husband James Baker, a brother Edward McKenna, and her Godson Edward McKenna Jr. Boots is survived by her nephew Tom McKenna and his wife Maggie as well as their children Jake and Joseph, and her cousins Jules Sabo and Bobby Sabo.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 8:30am the Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home 411 Amboy Ave., (RT 35) Woodbridge flowed by a 9:00am Mass of Resurrection from St. James R.C. Church with interment following at St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge.
