Sally Rae Croop Bush, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 7, 2013 in Toms River. A Jersey girl her whole life, Sally was born on Sept. 28, 1949 in Paterson to Howard and Carol Croop, she grew up in Pompton Lakes and moved to Ocean County where she stayed put for over 30 years. Sally was known for her loyalty, selflessness and love of her family and friends. As a registered nurse, she worked in various aspects of the medical field for over 40 years, helping others heal. Sally loved walks on fall days, enjoying nature, and her dog Luke. Sally is deeply loved and will be fondly missed.
Sally was known for her unwavering support for her family and friends, putting the needs of her husband, son, friends and family before her own. Whether it was driving to and from baseball games, cleaning up sawdust from her husband's backyard woodworking or being a listening ear and advisor over the phone, Sally was always the first person to be there for someone else. She will be remembered for her childlike exuberance, often getting a smile stuck on her face all day just from a new pair of earrings, hearing her favorite song or laughing with an old friend. Her laugh was one that was loud, big, and deep from her belly as it lit up her face; it felt like a warm hug when she was sharing it with others. She believed in the best in every person she met and had the ability to make people better humans, just from being around her.
Sally is survived by husband, Elliott; son, Eric; daughter-in-law, Felicia; brother, Chip, and niece, Hayley, as well as many friends and other loved ones.
Services will be held privately by Sally's immediate family and close friends. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family asks donations be made in Sally's honor to the ASPCA, www.aspca.org/donate. Condolences can be sent to carmonabolenfh.com.
