AGE: 93 • Verona

Mrs. Shirley P. Gutentag, 93, died on Sunday, December 30, 2012, in the Delray Medical Center, Delray Beach, Florida.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 12:30 P.M. in the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Rd., Livingston.

Born in Newark, Mrs. Gutentag has lived in Verona, N.J. for the past 16 years and has enjoyed a home in Boynton Beach, Fla. Mrs. Gutentag's affiliations include: Lion of Judah Circle of MetroWest, Hadassah and B'nai Brith Women, both of Hillside, Cedar Hill Country Club of Livingston, Hunter's Run Country Club of Boynton Beach, Fla and Congregation B'nai Jeshurun of Short Hills, N.J. for over 60 years.

The beloved wife of the late Sanford, Shirley was the devoted mother of Dr. Herbert (Patty) Gutentag and Joyce (Dr. Gerald) Hoch; loving grandmother of Allison (Andrew) Altersohn, Dr. Andrew (Ellen) Hoch, Dr. Amy Hoch, Steven Gutentag and Jesse Richmand. She is also survived by four dear great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her two sisters, Florence Deboff and Evelen Rothbard, she is survived by her two brothers, Harold Ladell and Paul Ladell as well as her sister-in-law, Sonia Gutentag.

Contributions may be made to the Daughters of Israel Geriatric Center, West Orange, or Congregation B'nai Jeshurun, Short Hills.
