Stephen Lowry Burkhart, son of Mrs. Manuela Kravarik, died Thursday, December 6th as the result of a fall at home. He was 60 and had courageously fought the complications of diabetes and kidney failure for several years. Steve was born January 17, 1952 in Washington D.C. He attended schools in Dallas,TX; Jacksonville, AK; Savannah, GA and graduated from Metuchen High School in Metuchen, NJ, Class of 1970. He traveled the U.S. extensively and settled in Dallas, TX until 1989 when he returned to N.J. He was a carpenter and worked for several contractors in Texas and N.J. over his career, until he became disabled. He was currently residing in the Clearbrook Community in Monroe Township.
He was predeceased by his father, William Burkhart. He is survived by his wife, Clara Elizabeth Burkhart (Lotz); his mom, Manuela and his step dad, Martin E. Kravarik; his brothers Mark S. Kravarik, Martin D. Kravarik and his wife Meiling, and his sister Marisa Burns, also his nieces Ashli, Alexa, Morgan and Cecilia Kravarik and nephews Kyle Burns and Jonathan Kravarik.
The Funeral will be Monday, December 10th 12:00 noon at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction. Burial will follow at Trinity-All Saints' Cemetery, All Saints' Road, Princeton.
