Obituary Condolences

Theodore F. Kijek

AGE: 66 • Bridgewater

Theodore F. Kijek, 66, entered into eternal rest at his home on Saturday, July 6, 2013 with his family by his side. Son of the late Theodore A. and Helen (Kulak) Kijek, Ted was born in Somerville on October 5, 1946 and was a lifelong resident of the Finderne section of Bridgewater. Ted was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School, Class of 1965. He was employed by Ethicon, Inc. for 28 years, several of those years as the Department Manager of Printing Operations. He then went on to work for Global Pharmaceutical Supply Group (Johnson & Johnson), as a Staff Engineer, retiring in 2007. Ted was the proud owner of a 1957 Chevy Bel Air since 1963. He was able to ride in his '57 Chevy one last time because of his loyal friends who spent a year rebuilding it for him. Ted was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed fly fishing as a member of the Musconetcong Trout Club. He was also a member of the Happy Honkers Waterfowl Club, Smyrna, DE. Ted enjoyed vegetable gardening, growing award-winning tomatoes, which he generously shared with family, friends, and neighbors. But most of all, Ted cherished time spent with his grandson in Myrtle Beach, SC.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Virginia "Jean" (Zebrowski) Kijek of Bridgewater; a daughter, Gina Ann Burch of Myrtle Beach, SC; and a grandson, Ryan Walker Burch.

Family and friends are kindly invited to visit with the family from 4 - 8 PM on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 8 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the funeral home followed by a 9 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church in Manville. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ted's memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 9 Lamington Road, Suite A, Branchburg, NJ 08876 or Steeplechase Cancer Center, 30 Rehill Avenue, Somerville, NJ 08876.
