AGE: 91 • Tinton Falls

Virginia Louise (Fontecchio) Van de Workeen, of Tinton Falls, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. She was born March 21, 1925 in Newton Centre, MA to the late Silvio and Leonilda Fontecchio. A homemaker who loved spending time with her family and friends, who was famous for their annual Christmas parties filled with food and fun. She worked as a well-respected receptionist at Advanced Instruments for 16 years in Needham, MA. Virginia enjoyed playing her organ and loved to sing where she spent many years in the church choir.

She was predeceased by her husband Ivan B. Van de Workeen and her brothers, Ernest Albert and Francesco Fontecchio. She is survived by her daughters; Karen Anne Casady of Oregon House, CA, Gail Elizabeth Hintze of Chillicothe, IL and Cynthia Louise (Mark) Allen of Red Bank, her four grandsons; Sean Michael Mannix, Todd, Dylan (Krise) Mannix, Mark Ivan Allen, and Sean Derek Allen, two great granddaughters, and four great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 9 to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. James RC Church, Red Bank at 11:30 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent in Virginia's memory to the . P.O.
