AGE: 94 • Perth Amboy

Wanda (Jess) Blajek (nee Altmajer), 94 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the St. Joseph's Seniors Home & Nursing Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Poland, she came to Jersey City in 1950 and then to Perth Amboy 55 years ago.

She was employed by Permacel Tape Company, New Brunswick as a Assembler for over 20 years. She retired in 1984. Wanda was a Communicant of the Blessed John Paul II Parish at St. Stephens RC Church. She was a member of the St. Stephen's Seniors, Holy Rosary Society and St. Joseph's Society of St. Stephens RC Church. She was also a member of the United Poles of America (ZPA) in Perth Amboy.

She is preceeded in death by her devoted husbands Emil Jess who passed away in 1944 and Stanley Blajek who passed away in 1969; loving daughter of Piotr and Anna (nee Kolodziej); dear sister of Boleslaw Altmajer, Janina Klajn, Aniela Lukawska and Elizabeth Vas. She is survived by her sons Frank Jess of Perth Amboy and Henry Blajek of Edison; cherished grandmother of Jesse Blajek and Derek J. and his wife Jeanine Jess, great-grandmother of Ashlyn and Kaleigh. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews especially her caregivers Wanda Mastropietro and John Klajn and her goddaughter, Janina Hradecka.

We begin to leave on Wednesday at 9:45 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral mass at the Blessed John Paul II Parish at St. Stephens RC Church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sayreville. Visiting is Wednesday from 8:00AM to 9:30AM.
