William H. "Bill" Boyland

AGE: 92 • Lakewood

William H. "Bill" Boyland, 92, passed away November 2, 2016 at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood. Mr. Boyland was born and raised in Irvington before moving to Elizabeth for many years, and finally settling in Lakewood for the past 30 years. He was a graduate of Irvington High School, where he was an All-State Basketball Player. Bill served in the Army Airforce during World War II in the Pacific. Mr. Boyland worked for Weston Instruments for over 30 years where he served as a production supervisor and a mentor for the Junior Achievement Program. He was a member of the VFW of Brick Post #8867. Bill was very active in the Original Leisure Village Community, especially the Bocce and Kiwanis Clubs and he was known for collecting tattered American Flags from the residents for proper disposal. Bill was an avid tennis and football fan. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and in law and will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Boyland is predeceased by his beloved wife Emily. He is survived by his son William J. Boyland and his wife Carol A.; grandchildren, Heather Kreismer and her husband Michael and Derrick Boyland; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Bryn; sister, Patricia Lind; nephew, William Lind; and In-Laws, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pietrantonio, Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Weber, Mr. Joseph Weber, and their families. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the D'Elia Funeral Home Rt. 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 9:30AM at the Church of the Visitation in Brick. Interment will take place at the Brigadier General William C.
