I had no idea Mr. Benoist had died. But just today I was telling someone about him, remembering him fondly, and I googled him and found his obit. I met him as a teenager, and he and his wife both came to some of my violin concerts, and Mr. Benoist and I carried on a correspondence for a while where I sent him parts of a children's story I was writing, and he sent me illustrations. I still have them. He was a lovely man, modest, kind, brilliant and creative. I'm glad to have known him.

My deepest condolences to Joan and family. Al was an true Renaissance man -- and a one-of-a-kind guy. I'll miss his energy, his intelligence, and his love for Monmouth Beach.

My sympathies to all who knew and loved this bright, loving and vibrant soul. I am grateful for the short time his light touched my own life, and will remember Mr. Benoist with great fondness.

Joan & Family: It was my pleasure to know you and Albert through Gracie Lange (Vuyosevich). I enjoyed Albert's take on the world and he was such a magnificent, well-rounded person--the artist and the engineer.
I wish you healing from your loss of your companion and life partner.

Dear Joan - The lights have gone out on Valentine Street. On behalf of my family, we are deeply saddened and share your loss. Albert was a vivacious and an extremely interesting man. He loved a party too! I am so glad that I can say I knew him and he was a friend. He helped us out a few times and shared the history of our home with us. Please take care. I picture Albert in Heaven having a great time with his parents, sisters and some of the most important, interesting, intelligent and talented people of the last Century. Rest in peace! My deepest condolences to the Benoist family. May you find comfort from God's Word that soon He will "wipe the tears from your eyes...and death will be no more." This promise is sure to come true in the near future.
