Kathleen M. Loftus, of Harvey Cedars, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born on Aug. 22, 1959 in New York City to Denis and Kathleen (Linehan) Barry. Kathleen was raised in Sloatsburg, NY. She attended Suffern High School and SUNY Geneseo. She worked for many years as an advertising executive in New York City.

Kathleen married James B. Loftus on Nov. 27, 1993. In addition to being an active member of the PTA in the local schools on Long Beach Island, Kathleen enjoyed volunteering her time fundraising for various events for her community. She gave generously and selflessly to all. Her greatest joy in life was to bring happiness to others.

Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband, James and her children, Kathryn, James and John. She is also survived by her parents, Denis and Kathleen Barry; her siblings, Siobhan and Robert Dineen, Denis, Maura and John. Kathleen also leaves behind her sisters and brothers-in-law, Tom and Anne Fehring, Kathy and Keith Martin, Bob and Kate Loftus, and Bill and Brigid Loftus. Kathleen was blessed to be loved by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 22 at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, Route 59, Suffern, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23 at St. Joan of Arc, Sloatsburg, NY. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Kathleen's name to Waves for Water Hurricane Sandy Relief Initiative.
