Born in New York City, Lillian graduated from the New York Public High School, Manhattan, NY in 1933. In 1936, she married Fred John William Huneke. They lived in the Bronx until 1950 when they bought a home in the suburbs of Radburn, NJ to raise their family. Lillian enjoyed being home with her family and caring for them. Lillian was an avid reader of mystery novels. One of her most enjoyable hobbies was to knit or crochet, which she shared with her family and those in need. Her last project was to knit hats for the wounded soldiers coming home from the war in Iraq. She was always well known for being well dressed with a continuing love of hats and gloves.
