Jack "Pop" Fraley, 96, of Wall passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Burnt Tavern Nursing & Rehab, Brick. Born in Statesville, NC., he has resided in Wall Township for over 66 years.
He was a veteran of the WWII serving as a diver for the US Navy. Jack was the proud owner of his marine contracting business, Jack Fraley and Sons, Wall Township for his entire life. He was also a lifelong member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local # 825, Springfield, NJ.
Jack was predeceased by his parents Dorsett and Jennette Elzinger Fraley, his beloved wife Esther V. (nee Morris) Fraley in 1981, his son Jack Fraley in 1987 and his siblings Raywood Fraley, Amy Ferrette, Molly McGowan and Louis Fraley. He is survived by his devoted son and daughter in law, Paul K. and Mildred (Millie) F. Fraley of Brick with whom he lived for many years during the latter part of his life, his daughter in law Janet Fraley of Lacey, his 6 grandchildren, Scott Fraley, Jeannette Elman, Susan Opalewski, Kimberly Pope, Aimee Parani and Jill Hammell, and his 9 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4-8 pm followed by a Funeral Service on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 10:30 am at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall.
