Michael Paris, 63, of Brick, passed away at home on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014. He was born in Brooklyn and moved to New Jersey when he was 12, and has lived at the Jersey Shore for the last 11 years. Michael was an active parishioner at The Church of Visitation; a third degree Knights of Columbus; Michael was an avid baseball player, he was drafted by the Houston Astros right out of high school. Even after retiring from professional baseball due to injuries, he continued to play slow pitch softball; he also coached for two years in the Holbrook Little League, Jackson.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Connie Paris; two step sons, Steven and Robert Woitkowski; his two step daughters, Nicole Tiedemann and, Evelynn Blatt; and six grandchildren, Channing, Matthew, Sirran, Rhys, Livia and, Tia.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Road, Brick. There will be a memorial mass at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at The Church of Visitation. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to The
