AGE: 83 • Berkeley

Patrick Mackin, 83, of Berkeley, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 surrounded by his family. Born in New York, he has lived in Toms River since 1958. After 20 years in the US Navy, he retired as Chief Petty Officer in 1968 then served as GS-12 civilian at Lakehurst Naval Base retiring in 1993. He was past member of the VFW, St. Josephs Knights of Columbus and a Deputy Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Rhode Island.

He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Steven Knott. Surviving is "his bride" of 63 years, Madeline; his children, Colleen Knott, Charlotte, NC; Catherine & her husband John Fuller, Toms River; Daniel & his wife LuAnn, Toms River; Patrick Mackin, Toms River; Thomas & his wife Maria, Randolph, NJ & Madeline & her husband Scott Braden, Beachwood; his grandchildren, Nicole, Jennifer, Jason, Daniel, Aaron, Matthew, Christine, Valerie, Scott, Kerri & Victoria; his great grandchildren, Damonn, Avery, Irie, Brady & Patrick.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 3-7pm at the Family Owned Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River. Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 9:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River. Burial will follow at the NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Life Choice Hospice Care and/or the in Patrick's name. Condolences can be sent to: carmonabolenfh.com
