Josephine Ann Testa, 93, returned home to the Lord on February 23, 2014. She was a resident of Laurelton Village Care Center in Brick at the time of her death. Born in Highland Park, NJ, she lived in Highland Park and Edison, NJ before moving to Ortley Beach in 1978.

Josephine was a seamstress for many years in New Brunswick.

She worked in the rectory and convent at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Highland Park. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Seaside Heights, where she was the treasurer of the Altar Rosary Society for years. Josephine was also the treasurer of the Ortley Beach Area Seniors for years.

She served on the election board, working at the District 26 polls for many years.

She also spent the better part of 30 summer seasons working on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights as a ticket agent.

Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Francis and her dear cousin, "Uncle Frankie". She is survived by her son, Rev. John J. Testa, Parochial Vicar of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Toms River; a sister, Blanche of Milltown; a sister, Victoria of St. Petersburg, FL; 7 nieces, 4 nephews, and many friends and admirers.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 from 9:00am - 11:00am in St. Maximilian Kolbe Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am. Committal will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick, NJ. Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, 130 St. Maximilian Ln., Toms River, NJ 08757 or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 100 Grant Ave., Seaside Heights, NJ 08751.
