Fredrick J. Polio "Fred,"66, of Bayville, NJ, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at home, causes unknown.

Fred was born June 14, 1947 in Weehawken, NJ. He was Catholic. He was predeceased by his parents, Fredrick J. Polio and Mildred Brugno. Fred often was found in the bowling alley or golf course growing up, and continued to participate in both sports throughout his life. He also worked in Seaside on the boardwalk, where he had made many childhood friends, and most he has kept to this day. His longtime soul mate and love was Gerry Kiser. Fred and Gerry both graduated from Central Regional High School. He also received his Associates Degree from Ocean County Community College. Fred was retired from the NJ Division of Pensions, where he was employed for 33 years as an accountant.

Residing in Bayville, NJ, Fred continued to be an avid golfer and bowler. He often played golf at Cedar Creek, and belong to several bowling leagues. He regularly bowled with his daughter Melissa and Gerry as a team. He was also a regular at Toms River Fitness. Fred had many talents, but most importantly, was his unique ability to make everyone feel special and loved. He was a friend to all, enemy to none.

Fred is survived by Gerry Kiser, his life-long love, his two daughter's Melissa Polio and Shannon Xiques, son-in-law Scott Xiques, and his grandchildren, Nicholas Xiques, Samantha Xiques, and Olivia Xiques. Fred also loved animals, and had three dogs; Zoe, Daisy, and Lucy, who were all with him when he passed.

Viewing will be held at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd, in Bayville, Thursday, March 6, 2014, from 7 to 9pm. All are welcomed.

In lieu of flowers, his family would like to request a donation be made to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.com in his name, as it was his favorite charity.

His family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers in this difficult time. Fred was kind, faithful, and very much loved.
