Perry Irwin Schlags

AGE: 79 • Toms River

Perry Irwin Schlags, 79, of Toms River, NJ, born November 16, 1934, passed Saturday evening, March 8, 2014, with his devoted wife and loving son by his side. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Perry joined the US Army and fought in the Korean War. He later opened a children's furniture store with his wife Kathy, and continued his career in managerial positions throughout New Jersey. In his spare time, he enjoyed drawing, playing tennis, bowling, billiards, and the occasional crossword puzzle.

Beloved husband of Kathleen Schlags (nee Leone) for 41 wonderful years; and loving father of Jeffrey Schlags and wife Karla of Berkeley, CA. Proud grandfather of Vincent Schlags. Also dear brother of Linda Kimmel and husband Michael of Manalapan; loving brother-in-law to Lucille Caputo of Rochelle Park, and Vincent and Jeanne Leone of Pinehurst, NC.; and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Joyce Urso.

Visitation Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9PM at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St, Toms River. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the .
