Edward Patrick Walsh Jr., 68, of Point Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, after a 13 month courageous battle with brain cancer (GBM). Ed was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and like many others, was drawn to the Jersey Shore, most notably his and Lisa's beautiful home in Point Pleasant. His entrepreneurial spirit, work ethic, family principles and fun loving wit is what most of those whom ever met him, loved most about him. Ed enjoyed gardening, fishing, family parties, his frequent excursions to Atlantic City, and he enjoyed cooking for the people he loved. Ed spent a lot of time supporting his children's interests and guiding them to be independent, strong and worthy people.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Jeanne Walsh; and his brothers-in-law, Jack Barnao and Adam Barnick. Ed is survived by the love of his life, Lisa Walsh. He is also survived by two sons, Dr. Christopher Walsh and his partner Andrew Chong, Adelaide, Australia, and Douglas Walsh and his wife Dana, Pt. Pleasant; daughter, Katie Walsh, Pt. Pleasant; and two loving grandchildren who brought him tremendous amounts of joy, Grace and Douglas Jr. Ed also leaves behind a sister, Jeanne Barnao; two brothers, Martin Walsh and Robert Walsh; three sisters-in-law, Robyn, Veronica and Greta; a brother-in-law, David; and a loving mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gerry and Jack Barnick. He also cherished several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends who will never forget his kind ways.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 27 at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28 at the funeral home. Donations in Ed's memory may be mailed to Monmouth Medical Center, David S.
