Joseph Arthur Grasso

AGE: 87 • Manchester

Joseph Arthur Grasso, 87, passed away April 1, 2014 at his home in Manchester. Mr. Grasso served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as a tax director of a major corporation for many years. Joseph was born and raised in Riverdale, NJ and spent 30 years of his life in Rahway, where he served in the Cub Scout Troop 141 as their treasurer. Since moving from Rahway, he had lived in Leisure Village West for 20 years. Joe was involved with various activities in his village, being named the volunteer man of the year in 2012. He served as the treasurer of the Tennis and Service Clubs and as the Chairperson for both the Election Committee and the Administration Division. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. Joseph is predeceased by his four brothers, Ralph, Lou, Frank and Mike Grasso and two sisters, Mary Monroe and Lucy Montevego. Mr. Grasso is survived by his wife Arlene, son, Kenneth and his wife Judy, granddaughter, Emily Grasso and her Fiancé Jake Stetson, sisters, Madeline Rizzo and Antoinette Kajor and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the D'Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Beth Olam Memorial Park, in Lakewood.
