AGE: 75 • Formerly of Matawan

Thomas J. O'Reilly, passed from this life on April 2, 2014 to join his infant son Thomas J. with his heavenly Father. Thomas was born in the Bronx, NY on June 15, 1938 to Joseph and Margaret O'Reilly. He is survived by his siblings , Joseph O'Reilly and his wife Georgette, Mary Ellen Francis and husband Dick, and Daniel O'Reilly and wife Susan. Also missing Tom will be many nieces and nephews, other family, friends, and Co-workers. He and his loving wife of 57 years, Alice had only moved to Freehold in September 2013 after having resided in Matawan for 44 years. Thomas was a a caring and supportive father, to his daughter Kathryn Fisler and husband Frank, of Old Bridge, his son Thomas and wife Laurie of Colts Neck, and son Joseph and wife JoLee. Surviving also are 8 grandchildren whom he dearly loved and gave him many joyful times, Jackie, Katie, and Tommy O'Reilly, Daniel and Andrew Fisler, Colleen Stipeck and husband Jim, T.J and Quinn O'Reilly and 3 great grandchildren. Thomas retired from the IUOE Local 94, NY as a business agent. He served proudly in the US Marine Corps. Tom was a proud Irish American and a member of the Friendly Sons of Shillelagh. A devoted Catholic, he honored his church as a member of the St. Joseph Council of the Knights of Columbus, Keyport, NJ. There he considered it an honor to be a Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator, and Former District Deputy. He enjoyed his memberships in the St. Clement Senior Club and Silvermead Community Association. While his children were growing up he enjoyed working with the Matawan Boro Little League and Girls Softball League.

Visitation will be held on Friday April 4, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral mass will take place Saturday April 5, 2014 at 11am in St. Clement Church, Matawan. A private burial will take place on Monday in St. Raymond Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
