Florence L. "Shultzy" Pancoast

AGE: 87 • North Wales, PA

Florence L. "Shultzy" Pancoast, 87, of North Wales, passed away peacefully at home, April 9, 2014, surrounded by her family and long time life partner and love, Warren Laurer. Born April 16, 1926 in Philadelphia, Florence was the daughter of the late Walter and Florence (Shane) Hibbert.

Florence worked for many years at the North Penn Volunteer Fire Company Social Club and retired at 80 years old. In earlier years, Florence received many awards as a competitive bowler. Additionally, she was known as a beloved Girl Scout Leader and active member of her community.

But most of all, she was an avid surf fisherwoman, and received many awards for her fishing accomplishments. Flo, as she was affectionately called by her fishing buddies, was a life time Member of the Women's Surf Fishing Club of New Jersey, a member of the New Jersey Beach Buggy Association and very active member in the Association of Surf Anglers Clubs. She served as president for both the Women Surf Fishing Club of New Jersey and The Association of Surf Anglers Clubs.

Florence is survived by two children, Roger Pancoast of Lansdale and Christine Pancoast of Brigantine, NJ; two grandchildren, Peter Pancoast of Souderton and Fran Pancoast of North Wales; great-grandson, Daniel Pancoast of Souderton; and one great-great-grandchild, Carmilla Moffatt.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family 1:00-2:00p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to WSFC of NJ Inc., 18 Ridge Dr., Montville, NJ, 07045 and will be used to support youth fishing programs and youth fishing awards.
