William F. Wardell, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. He was born in Long Branch, grew up in Red Bank, and moved to Brick after he retired. Before retiring, he worked as a truck driver for 35 years for Allied Van Lines and Clifford B. Finkle Jr. He was a volunteer firefighter for the town of Red Bank. His hobbies included sports cards, fishing, classic cars, and horse racing. His real joy in life was spending time with his grandkids, Justin and Jenna.
William is survived by his daughters, Terri Czajkowski of Brick and her husband, Paul, Linda Bisaha, Dawn Wardell and his sons, Daniel Wardell of Matawan, David Wardell, Michael Wardell, William Wardell; brother, James Mack and his wife, Peggy of Long Branch; sister, Judy Oster of Tinton Falls; nephews, Michael Oster and his wife Jennifer, Kevin Oster and his wife Wendy and James Mack Jr.; niece, Staci Hurley and former spouses, Patricia Fiordland and Judith Porter. He is predeceased by parents, Doris Mack and Ivins Wardell and sister, Joyce Bennett.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Ave., Asbury Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gimbel, Lehy, Quirk, V.F.W.
