AGE: 93 • Red Bank

William V. Setaro, 93, a lifelong Red Bank resident, died peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Bayside Manor in Keansburg. Bill was born in Red Bank to John and Antoinette (Arnone) Setaro. He was a Red Bank Catholic graduate. Bill then went on to honorably serve in the US Army during WWII from 1942-1946 serving in both the European and Pacific theatres as an MP. Bill was a former President of the Red Bank Board of Education and Parks and Recreation. He was a very active parishioner of St Anthony of Padua RC Church where he served Mass for countless years and was a member of the church's Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a life member of the Red Bank Fire Police and was a crossing guard for 25 years. Professionally Bill was a member of Local #9 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union for 40 years.

He is predeceased by his sisters, Angie Giglio, Rose Mazzucca, Lena Cerone, Ida Setaro and Mildred Knight; brothers, Dominick, Bernard and Peter, and in 2011 by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary (DeGiorgio) Setaro. Bill is survived by his sons, William J. and wife Barbara of Tinton Falls and John L. and wife Kathy of Maryland and his daughter, Debbie McNish and husband Alan also of Tinton Falls; sisters, Nancy Raymond and Dorothy Setaro of Red Bank; sisters-in-law, Teresa Setaro and Angie and Marge DeGeorge; grandchildren, Maria and husband Colby, Anthony, Gianna and husband Gary, Andrea, Keri, Michael, Gina and fiancé Scott and Christopher and wife Carrie and great grandchildren, Reilly, Nathan and Jeremy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 9th, 10:30am at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, Red Bank. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 121 Bridge Ave., Red Bank, NJ 07701.
