Blanche E. Hallihan Dougherty (nee Santero), 88, of Toms River, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church, Berkeley Twp. Blanche was born and lived in Staten Island before moving to Toms River 40 years ago. Surviving is her husband of 40 years, John; 6 children, Dennis Santero and his wife Syu of Highland, CA, Evelyn Hedrick of Oklahoma City, OK, John Hallihan and his wife Marilyn of Toms River, Richard Hallihan and his wife Sharon of Toms River, Barbara New and her husband Don of South Carolina and Debra Caruthers of Pennylvania. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 16 at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17 at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church, Berkeley Twp. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
