Virginia (Ginnie) Beaumont Rich passed away early Wednesday morning, May 15, 2014 at age 84 at St. Ann's Home in Jersey City, New Jersey. She was born in Philadelphia, only child of Wilhelmina "Billie" and Charles Beaumont.
She was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and later received her teaching degree from Georgian Court. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Rich II, Ginnie and Jerry were married for more than 50 years. Like her husband, she was a wonderful and dedicated teacher; she taught 4th grade at Silver Bay Elementary in the Toms River School System for over 20 years. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Kim Rich Norton and Shawn Norton, Gerald Rich III and Geoff and Koni Rich.
She was also the cherished grandmother of Jaremy Rich and wife Sarah Rich, and Gabrielle Rich. She was proud to be a vital member of the Toms River community since 1951 and was a supporter of the arts, continuing education and often served as a docent for the Ocean County Historical Society Museum and Research Center.
The viewing will be held at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ on Tuesday, May 27 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Services will also be held at Anderson and Campbell on Wednesday, May 28 at 10:00am, followed by interment at Ocean County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that, in honor of Virginia Rich's life-long dedication to teaching, a donation be made to the Hand in Hand Bayonne Music School Scholarship Fund, c/o Grace Lutheran, 836 Avenue C, Bayonne NJ 07002.
