Carol Cavella Williamson Andrews Obituary
Carol Cavella Williamson Andrews

AGE: 71 • Neptune

Carol Cavella Williamson Andrews, 71, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014, after a brief illness at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Carol was born on May 13, 1943 at Fitkin Memorial Hospital (now JSUMC) to Williebrunelle Griffin Williamson and William Applegate Williamson. She attended the Asbury Park School System and graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1960. She went on to attend Virginia Union University, Richmond, VA, after which she married and began a family. Affectionately known as "Cazzy," her main focus throughout her adult life was her family. Her most important concern, her son, two daughters and their children.

She found time to assume the duties of "family nurse." In the 1980s, she initially commuted, then briefly moved to Atlanta, GA to care for a terminally ill cousin. Most recently, she provided around the clock are to her aunt until her death in March, which prevented her attendedance at her sister Gail's funeral. In addition to family nurse, Cazzie was in many ways its center. Always ready with information, advice and ironic laughter, she acted as the glue adhering the generations together. Carol was employed over the years by the Asbury Park Board of Education at Bangs Avenue School as a substitute teacher.

She was predeceased by her father, William A. Williamson; a sister, Gail Williamson Petway; her former husband, Burley Andrews Sr.; and her partner of many years, Joseph Kellam "PopPop." Carol is survived by her children, Abdul Gawy/Burley Andrews Jr. of Manalapan, Bobbi Allyn Andrews Morgan of Manalapan, and Billi Briana Andrews of Neptune; grandchildren, Antoinette Andrews, Ahlani Andrews, both of Miami, Florida, Kyle Morgan, Keynin Morgan and Kesahn Morgan, all of Neptune; two great-grandchildren; a special daughter, Kim Jones of Asbury Park; and her godson, Ellis Neal Jr. of Asbury Park.

A service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Ely Funeral Home, 3316 Route 33, Neptune. Repast directly to follow at the VFW, located on Corlies Avenue/Route 33, Neptune.
