Ferdinando "Fred" Joeseph Gambale

Ferdinando "Fred" J. Gambale 78 of Leisure Knoll, Manchester died Thursday, May 22, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was employed for 35 years with Western Union, New York City as Director of Logistics before retiring in 1992. He served in both the U.S. Army and the Army reserve. He served as Vice President for the Heartland Village Civic Association, and belonged to the Good Sam Club both on Staten Island. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Assembly #390, Lynn, MA. He was a parishioner of St John's Church, Lakehurst. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived there, and in Staten Island, NY, Peabody, MA, East Brunswick,NJ, and Allentown, PA for 19 years before moving to Manchester in 2003. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marie Galli Gambale, a son and daughter in law, Michael S. and Mary Gambale of Lynn, MA, a daughter, Ganine Gambale and her partner, Teri Kelly, of Ocean Grove, a sister, Annette Iacovino of Toms River, 2 grandchildren, Fredric and Justine Gambale, 4 nephews, and 2 nieces. Visitation is Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. John's Church, Lakehurst with interment to follow at the Brigadier Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
