Richard Nolan

AGE: 71 • Little Egg Harbor

Richard Nolan, 71, of Little Egg Harbor, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014, at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin. He was born and lived in Rahway and Manchester before moving to Little Egg Harbor 2 years ago. He was a member of St. John's R.C. Church in Lakehurst and St. Theresa's R.C. Church in Little Egg Harbor where he previously served as a Reader, Eucharistic Minister and Usher. Richard was a graduate of the University of Maine where he received his Bachelors and Masters Degree's. He then began his work in Education, where he started at Rahway High School as a teacher and coach, Red Bank H.S. as Asst. Principal, Pinelands Regional H.S. as Asst. Principal, Lawrenceville H.S. as Principal and finally retiring from Pemberton Twp. H.S. as Principal. Richard was a very intelligent man and was given the honor of lecturing at Oxford University in England. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed fishing, travelling and being a swim instructor.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Frances Nolan; wife, Pamela Nolan and step-son, Donald Mickens Jr. He is survived by wife, Gwen Nolan; sons, Jim Nolan (Katey) of Hamilton, and Christopher Nolan (Robin) of Manchester; daughter, Robyn Nolan-Scholts of Manchester; step-daughters, Amanda Super (Rick) of LA, Donna Steinmetz (Matthew) of CT and Pamela Mickens-Guerin of Little Egg Harbor; sister, Noreen Parsons of Hamilton; sister-in-law, Sandra Fourman of Newport; grandchildren, Hunter, Danny, Paige, Peyton, Jacob, Craig, Kenny, Nicole, Stephanie, Matthew, Felicia, Alexis and Ashley and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 30 at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon Friday at St. John R.C. Church in Lakehurst, followed by entombment at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
