Mary Huth, age 77, of Manasquan passed away on May 30th, 2014 after courageously battling a hereditary blood disorder. Born and raised in Newark, Mary also lived in Livingston and Stamford, CT where she raised her family before moving to Manasquan 15 years ago. Mary graduated from St. Vincent's Academy in Newark, class of 1955 and attended Berkley Academy for two years before going to work for Doremus and Co. in Manhattan prior to her marriage. Throughout her life, Mary remained actively involved with her church; from volunteering to work with Vietnamese immigrants to serving as a Eucharistic Minister and as an associate member of the Congregation of Notre Dame Order of Nuns in Stamford to participating more recently as a member of the St. Mark's Altar Rosary Society.
Kind, warm, caring, nurturing, Mary had an infectious zest for life underpinned by a terrific sense of humor that frequently announced itself with her sweet laugh. Her ever-present smile had a warmth radiating from it that touched everyone she met. Everyone who knew Mary would tell you they were better for the experience. Mary was devoted to her family and was never happier than when she had a houseful of her children and grandchildren, which was often, as everyone always wanted to be around Mom/Grandma.
Mary is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Harte and her brothers Patrick and Brendan Harte.Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Nick, her son Tom and his wife Diane of Manasquan, her son Nick and his wife Jeanie of Chatham, her daughter Peg Redmond and her husband John of Chatham, her daughter Jane Masi and her husband Bob of Hudson Ohio, her son Matt and his wife Kimberly of Chatham, her daughter Elizabeth Culley and her husband Mike of Wilmington DE, her sister Peggy McEnroe of Mantoloking, her brother Tom Harte of Jamestown NY and her 17 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd, from 1-4pm and 7-9pm at O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Denis R.C. Church in Manasquan at 9:30 a.m. on June 3rd.
