Hillsborough

Marguerite P. DelVento nee Poliseno passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Orange, NJ the daughter of the late Carlo and Rita Poliseno. She graduated Orange High School Class of 1947. Marguerite worked for many years for NJ Bell and AT&T retiring in 1990. She moved to Hillsborough in 2001 and was an active member of Mary Mother of God Church where she taught CCD and was a member of the Rosary Society, the Circle of Friends and the Senior Citizens Chapter B. Marguerite taught ESL for the Somerset County Literacy Program. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, playing canasta and Mahjong with her close friends but most of all her greatest pleasure was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marguerite was strongly devoted to her loving family and the Catholic Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard (2005). Surviving are her 4 children and their spouses, Leonard and Maria, Allen and Diane, Carla and Gerard Murphy and Renita and Achille Confourto; her sister, Annette Colletti; her 8 grandchildren, Erika, Zachary, Jacob, Amanda and Aimee DelVento, Achille, Michael and Andre Confourto and her great grandchild, Queyana.

Funeral services will begin on Thursday at 8:45am in the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 US Hwy 206, Hillsborough, NJ 08844 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Mother of God Church, 157 S. Triangle Rd., Hillsborough. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visiting will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mary Mother of God Rosary Society.
