Sandra Beverly Jurrens

AGE: 72 • Lincroft

Sandra Beverly (Benton) Jurrens, 72, entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at her home in Lincroft. Sandra was born at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick to mother Lucille (Dascenzo) Benton and father Paul Benton. She was a resident of Leonardo for 20 years and most recently lived in Port Monmouth for 6 years before moving to Lincroft. Sandra graduated from Atlantic Highlands High School in 1960. She worked for AT&T/Lucent for over 20 years before retiring from her position and moving on to work as a crossing guard for Middletown Township. She loved seeing the children's friendly faces each day. Sandra enjoyed gardening, the beach, oldies music and everything to do with holidays. She was happiest while surrounded by family and friends and constantly demonstrated love with a generous spirit. At a party, Sandra was the party. She treated all as equals, never judged or feared being judged. She lived life her way, and all were welcome to join her.

Sandra was beloved mother to daughter, Donna Doherty of Belford, and son James Doherty of Port Monmouth, and cherished grandmother to granddaughters Elyse Jankowski and Ginjer Doherty.
